Natalka Falcomer JD, CLO

Founder, Managing Partner

Natalka is a lawyer who combined her legal and entrepreneurial background with her social justice bend to change the delivery of legal services. Determined to give lawyers who don’t fit the “big law” model an opportunity to earn an income and to give clients who can’t afford the “big law” rates an alternative billing model, she launched Groundworks - a customer services firm that happens to practice commercial and residential leasing law.

Groundworks lawyers work from home and on their own schedules while being fairly compensated. The goal is to give Groundworks’ lawyers the financial freedom and flexibility they need to give back to society by way of “side hustles”, volunteering or caring for family. Groundworks, however, doesn’t forget about its clients. Rather, the firm’s goal is to change the perception and experience of working with lawyers by creating positive client-relationships and surprising its clients with flat rates, flexible billing, “pick and choose” service options and guaranteed turnaround times.

Due to her innovation in the field and volunteer work as the founder and host of a popular Rogers TV show, Toronto Speaks Legal Advice, Natalka was named as one of Canada’s Top 100 Elite Women in Real Estate by the Real Estate Professional Magazine. Natalka also speaks at law schools in North America about her business model, as well as various real estate forums, groups and national conferences such as Real Estate Investors Forum, Royal LePage Commercial National Conference, SpringFest and PMExpo.

Apart from managing and running her firm, Natalka writes for many real estate publications, such as Real Estate Magazine and she is the recipient of the 2015-2016 REIC Education Award, the Bentall Kennedy Literary Award, the Patrick J Harvey Memorial Award and the 2017 QuadReal Literary Award. Over the last few years, she’s also obtained a Certified Leasing Officer designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada’s (REIC), revised REIC’s commercial leasing and negotiation courses and now teaches these courses across Canada. Natalka was appointed as an REIC Director (Toronto Chapter) in both 2016 and 2017 and continues to carry this position.
